An ancient Japanese belief was that nothing lasts forever, and this simple fact is what made objects so precious. Once broken objects could be brought back to life using a technique known as kintsugi. A reassembled piece then became even more precious. Fem Fetalle was inspired by this notion, the dramatic pose suggests beauty is both fleeting and vulnerable to the forces of nature.

The sculpture was sculpted in ceramic, bisque fired, broken, raku fired, and finally painstakingly reassembled.

Size: 28cm height.
