This statue was in the garden of one of Deborah's friend’s house in the South of France. She liked the incongruence of the Japanese style figure, against the tropical plants, of the Cote D’Azur.
This is one of several studies from a triptych that Deborah designed for the Glass Hotel in Tacoma, Washington.
Deborah specialises in combining photography and glass, using layering, shading and montage to produce the final pieces. The qualities of the glass are exploited by a layering of the images, turning two dimensional photographs into three dimensional scenes.
