Janice Zethraeus demonstrates a deep passion and understanding of natural forms throughout her work. The fluid lines that define her distinct style are deeply inspired by the undulating, organic patterns we see in plant life and natural landforms, a subtle acknowledgement of the beauty to be found in nature. Janice’s designs are beautifully elegant and delicate in appearance, greatly influenced by her background as an illustrator. The streamlined, graphic interpretations of her organic drawings are translated to jewellery, where volume and structure become key.
Predominately using gold and sterling silver, Janice meticulously handcrafts each piece of jewellery, often accentuating form with the subtle use of diamonds, pearls, and gemstones. Her contemporary designs are well reconsigned by their delicacy and intricacy, a complete look which is both highly stylish and very wearable.
Janice graduated from Sir John Cass Department of Art and Design in 2010, winning the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office Technology Award. Janice was a member of the Crafts Council’s Hothouse Programme 2011. In 2012, The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council awarded her a commendation in the Contemporary Gold & Platinum Jewellery category. Based in her studio in London, Janice enjoys working directly with clients to create distinctive designs to delight each individual.
