Constructed from solid silver and Paua pearl (sometimes called "blue pearl"), a gem unique to New Zealand , all the features of this necklace have been meticulously shaped and constructed by hand. "Pāua" is in fact the Māori name given to three species of edible underwater snails, each belonging to the Haliotidae family. By using a special blistering process, the pearls themselves are made from the shells of such snails and are capable of producing a breathtaking array of blue, green, and violet hues.
Known for his intelligent use of gemstones, diamonds, and precious metals, Bruce Dalgleish creates jewellery which is both modern yet timelessly classic in its appeal. He is very fond of incorporating colour into his designs; regularly combining different metals with a broad palette of colourful gemstones and pearls - often all in one piece!
Bruce has previously trained as an apprentice diamond mounter, and also studied design at Sir John Cass in Aldgate, London.
