Lisa Kilty lives and works in Hebden Bridge, amidst the mystical Pennines. She has an MA in Hispanics from Glasgow University and has travelled widely in Spain, Portugal and South America. During her time in these places the intense light, colour and luminosity had a profound influence on Lisa, something we can see permeating her work to this very day. A member of the Outsider Art movement Lisa has independently exhibited in Leeds, London, York, Berlin and Valencia.
“I work mainly in acrylics on canvas, for the purity of colour and the quick drying time between layers of paint - of which there are many. My influences are mainly Hispanic and Celtic, and dreams, meditation, mythology, archetypes, symbols, travels (both inward and outward), sacred places, people, nature and birds are some of my sources of inspiration.” – Lisa Kilty
