About Me

Notarianni Glass is a design partnership between contemporary glass artists Amanda Notarianni and Charlie Macpherson. Based in Neston in Northwest England, both artists have been making award winning glass since 1998.

Amanda and Charlie both share an incredible passion for excellent design and an exceptional commitment to creating unique works of art. Their signed innovative ultra modern pieces are hand made to commission for private clients, corporations, museums and galleries.

Amanda Notarianni uses traditional glass making techniques to create unique hand blown sculptural forms. She enhances her sleek free blown pieces using skilful cold working processes such as cutting, carving and polishing to create surface patterns and textures, which hold light and magnify reflections. “Molten glass is such a dynamic material to work with. I really enjoy the challenge of working with a material that continuously pushes me to develop skills and understanding.”

Charlie Macpherson’s approach balances the simplicity of his forms with more complicated use of line and pattern. He incorporates cane techniques in the blowing process, which are enhanced by polishing to highlight areas of interest. Charlie enjoys designing work that invites the viewer to look more closely at the intricate details, seeing more than at first glance.

Notarianni glass offers a bespoke service, working closely with clients, offering flexibility of style, content, size and scale. Commissions start with sketches of initial concepts. The selected ideas are then developed with the client and budget.

Projects have included public art commissions, architectural lighting and sculptural vessels designed to enhance both the domestic or corporate environment. Amanda and Charlie exhibit internationally and have pieces in both private and public collections.
