The red deer were experiencing real hardship with this long and hard Winter, and consequently had taken to coming down to lower levels in search of food. Jim took advantage of the situation by feeding them some bread and taking this close up shot.
As Glencoe is one of Jim's favourite places he was careful to position the deer so that the snowy mountains, The Buachaille Etive Mor on the left and the Aonach Eagach ridge on the right, were in frame.
